So awhile back, Sephora had a sale on these. They were selling two glosses in a pack for $10. Not sure why….. But I jumped on that train!
I’m glad I did too! These are beautiful! Down below is how Sephora.com describes the product…
What it is:
A decadent lip gloss (with a delicious vanilla-mint flavor!) that allows you to get hooked on the shine, without the sticky hangover.
What it does:
You want a super-shiny gloss, but can’t stand the sticky texture? Get your shine fix with Lip Junkie. The soft, cushiony texture goes on smoothly and stays put longer than other glosses. You also get a great color payout (sometimes hard to find in a gloss) and a range of amazing shades, including sheer, pretty neutrals, knockout brights, and a glimmering nearly black. The range of textures and shades will hook even the most jaded junkie. The key ingredient, Maxi-Lip™, plumps the appearance of lips an average of 40% when used daily for a month. (Lip Junkie uses non-irritant plumpers, unlike other glosses that use stinging ingredients to inflame your lips.) The Maxi-Lip actually helps your lips become better defined, super-hydrated, and full. And the flavor? Think yummy wedding mints: a sweet vanilla mint with a little zing that makes breath feel fresh.
What else you need to know:
Debatably the most exciting part is the soft, angled tip that lays down a smooth, precise application and a molded (not crimped) tube. No more worrying about lip gloss explosions in your bag. The applicator tip is also molded to ensure a mess-free application. And the gorgeous cap looks like a stained glass window: metallic gunmetal over rich purple.
So for my thoughts, I really like these glosses! I wouldn’t say they’re worth the high price they normally retail for! The full-size sells for $19. Yikes! There are many glosses in the drugstore that I like just as much, that are more budget-friendly! This one is a beautiful plumping formula that isn’t usually found in the drugstore though. So if that’s what you’re needing then it may be worth the splurge! Otherwise, look for sales of some kind. :)
So I bought the Lorac Pro Palette last year, when every beauty blogger recommended that it was THE palette to own. And they weren’t crazy! It offers extreme pigment, and beautiful color options.
For the full review and swatches of that palette – click here.
But this post is all about the 2nd edition of the Lorac Pro Palette! I honestly think I may get more use out of this one! It’s considered to be the “cooler” edition of the Lorac Pro family.
Here are some up close pictures of the colors. This palette is easily used for day to day wear. But luckily the dark colors add some drama and dimension to any look! It’s especially great because of the variety of matte and shimmer (8 of each).
Here are the swatches, one arm with the matte shades and one with the shimmer. The matte shades from top to bottom are: Buff, Lt. Brown, Cool Gray ( Which has a “greige” kind of look. It’s a favorite), Nectar, Plum, Navy, Charcoal, and Black. The Shimmer shades from top to bottom are: Snow, Beige, Rose ( One of my favorites!), Mocha, Chrome, Silver, Jade (Another favorite, but probably because I have a strange love for green shadows.), Cocoa.
Gorgeous! All of them are creamy and pigmented. I prefer this palette’s quality to the first as well. Both are extremely pigmented and creamy, but the first tended to have lots of fall out in the palette. You dip a brush in and lots comes off! Since these are so pigmented you don’t want that. You definitely need a light hand! But this palette wasn’t as prone to that fall out which I love! :)
This one goes out to my subsrciber Jae! It’s been clear that I love Lorac products so far… And I promised to share my thoughts on the Lorac Pro Palette. The Lorac Pro 2 will be later this week!
So this palette has been hailed as THE palette to have. Once I bought it, I saw why! This palette has richly pigmented shadows and a full spectrum of 8 matte shades and 8 shimmer shades.
This palette is talked about so much because it is so usable! It’s great for day or night looks. :)
The matte shades are super-creamy. Because of my undertones the cream and the lt. pink shade blend really well for me…. so I’m sorry they don’t show up really well in the swatches! But they are BEAUTIFUL brow bone colors for me! They don’t stand out in an annoying way for office looks, which I appreciate! Going left to right: Black, Espresso, Sable, Mauve, Lt. Pink, Taupe, Cream, White.
The Shimmer are just as creamy, maybe even more so! They’re extremely soft. The champagne shade is the only one that has micro shimmer, but it doesn’t show up as glitter, it’s looks extra-shimmery. All others are a perfect satin-shimmer. One thing to note is that when you use a brush – which is almost always for me – there is a lot of fallout in the palette. So it can get pretty messy… And a little goes a long way since they’re so pigmented, so just dip lightly! From left to right: Slate, Deep Purple, Garnet, Pewter, Lt. Bronze, Gold, Champagne, Nude.
So my final thoughts? It’s worth every penny, and lives up to everything people say. It’s a do-it-all palette that anyone can use!
Man, do you ever have those days where you get hit with a ton of bricks – emotionally speaking? Yeah, today was one of those for me. I feel like it was a simple case of the “straw that breaks the camel’s back” syndrome. So it’s been building up for a while….
But after a good talk with a friend, and then a very spiritual experience where I felt God’s love for me, I felt the need to share what I was reminded of.
Slow down, and enjoy the wonders around you! There is happiness everywhere around you, if you’ll only open your eyes. Sometimes, I choose to walk around with my eyes closed…. rather than feel love and light. So for any of you who ever feel this way – or for those who just like to be uplifted… Here’s a quick video that always helps me remember what’s important! :)
Take some time this week to enjoy the small moments! Happy Sunday!
Let me know your thoughts down below! :)
Do you ever have those weeks where everything is so crazy that by the end your body is just wiped out? Ok, that’s everybody I guess. So last week was one of those for me! But when I was coming home and feeling so sleepy I didn’t want to do anything at all! I realized I was getting some warning signs from my body, that sickness could be coming on… So I took a “nap” on Sunday at 4:30pm….. and didn’t wake up until the next morning! I slept for 14-15 hours!!! That was not expected or planned, but I really felt like my body needed it! I felt refreshed the next day and everything. It was just crazy! So make sure whatever you’re doing, that you’re listening to your body!
I was browsing online purchasing something I couldn’t live without…. and at this point, I have no recollection what it was! Guess it wasn’t that essential. The point is I stumbled across this gloss…. Bare Minerals – Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in “Hypnotist”
It was SO unique, I had to have it! Saying it’s duo-chrome isn’t accurate. It’s more like octo-chrome! It has the entire rainbow in it, it’s beautiful! I tried to get it from different angles so you could see the colors… but these pictures can’t even do it justice!
But on the lips it doesn’t look odd in any way. It gives a very sheer color, so this gloss would be a great topper to any lipstick. It would add interest and pizzazz to just about anything!
These glosses are always, creamy – not sticky – and just luxurious to wear! This is so unique, I’d recommend picking this up if you ever have the chance!
Like a true Pinterest lover I have thousands of things in my boards that I want to try! So here I am again to share my thoughts with you on a pin and its claim.
YUM. :) Right? I was practically drooling when I saw this picture. So here was my taking on these! Below is the recipe and I’ll share how I did!
- 1 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea sat
- 1 stick unsalted butter, melted until browned
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, at room temperature (I didn’t get it to room temperature…. and I was hungry… so yeah. ;-) )
- 5 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped into chunks ( I didn’t have chunks actually, but I DID have jumbo semi-sweet chocolate chips… just as good!)
- In a medium-sized bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; Set aside.
- In a small saucepan over medium-low heat melt the butter, whisking constantly until it reaches a golden brown color; remove from heat at once. (I just melted mine in the microwave for 30 seconds… but I may try this next time!)
- Transfer melted butter to a large mixing bowl or stand mixer. Add sugars and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy: about 3 minutes. (I beat it for a good minutes and it never got “fluffy” per se… but it was light and yummy looking.)
- Add egg and mix on medium-high speed for another 30 seconds; the egg will not be totally incorporated.
- Add the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Stir in the chopped chocolate chunks.
- Using a large ice cream scoop or a 2 tablespoon measuring spoon, form 1/4 cup sized cookies with the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Place baking sheet in the refrigerator for 2 hours (and up to 48 hours) before baking. (So I was starving and wanted cookies like crazy. So I baked 1 cookie sheet immediately and 1 four hours later.)
- When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Place baking sheet in oven and bake cookies for 13-14 minutes, or until golden and just set.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve with milk!
- Cookies stay good for up to 3 days stored in an airtight container… but I doubt they’ll last that long ;) (Agreed my single batch didn’t last 48 hours with me and my 3 roommates!)
Here was try #1, without the waiting. Now, these were definitely spread out. More than you’d normally want. But not so flat that they looked extremely strange. These were gone before the next day… so I can’t verify that they’re nice and soft for days. These were a little more crunchy. That was because they were thinner, not because they weren’t soft on top.
Here was try #2 that was refrigerated. So… as much as I hate to admit it, the refrigeration is pretty important. They were thicker and more ooey gooey and delicious! :) Now, I’m gonna be honest. Are these the BEST Chocolate Chunk Cookies ever? Probably not. But they are dang good! Even without following the recipe perfectly! They were delicious and totally approved in my book!
Try it out! Let me know what you think!
Alrighty! In this month’s box, I received no less than 5 full size products!!!!
First the Three Custom Color “On Fire Shimmer Creme”. I feel like I just received something similar in another subscription service…. But this is quite lovely! This retails for $22.50!
Second, the Tarina Tarantino “Eye Dream Hyperliner – Black”. I’m getting a little full of black liner in my stash….but at least I’ll use it right? And I’ve heard great things about this brand! This swatched really creamily. It didn’t set quickly, but once it set it seemed to stay well. (It took at least a minute to set….) It says it is waterproof. In the description it also says the formula releases tiny spheres of jojoba oil and vitamin E to moisturize and prevent cracking! Pretty fancy…. This retails for $15.00
Third, another product from Liberty Republic. I think Jordan Liberty contributes to Wantable quite a bit… This was the “SPELLBOUND Nail Lacquer – Omen” This red is mesmerizing! I would’ve like to have tried the muted mauve shade a little more. But once again, who has enough red nail polish? This retails for $14.00
Fourth, from Vincent Longo “#37 Foundation Brush”. This seemed sooooo soft through the plastic…. but since I have 2-3 brushes like this and I don’t use them a ton, I wanted to keep it package for a gift. And this retails for a whopping $30.00!!!
Lastly, from Eddie Funkhouser, ” Chromographic Lip Color – Kiki”. I saw the name and imagined a duo-chrome of some kind. But this was creamy solid color. A glossy muted pink color is what it turned out to be. It claims to keep lips hydrated with flower and mango fruit extracts, as well as vitamin C & E. This seems like a great everyday color, and feels very smooth and buttery! This lipstick retails for $11.99.
That’s all I got! But I’m overall VERY happy with the box. I’m going to get some great use from all of these products! I honestly love discovering new brands and products from this subscription box. It’s probably my favorite one for make-up!
